LAB WEEK
On the first week of each month, in-center labs are drawn during your treatment.
If you are on the MWF schedule, this will be on Wednesday;
If you are on the TTS schedule, this will be on Thursday.
Please make every effort to stay for your full treatment on these specific days so that we have accurate information to guide us in your care.

YOUR DIALYSIS ACCESS
Check your access every day to be sure it is not clotted. You can do this by listening to it (hold your arm up to your ear, or have someone put their ear over the access) to hear the swishing sound of blood flowing, or you can feel it buzzing by placing your hand over it gently. Become familiar with the usual force of the blood flow through it on a daily basis.
If you do not detect blood flowing through the shunt or fistula, please contact the dialsyis center immediately.
If the center is closed, call Dr. Curtis Lee so that a plan of treatment can be made for you as soon as possible.
Do not wait until your next treatment to inform us of a problem.
Other problems needing urgent attention:
pain or new swelling at needles sites
redness at needle sites
sudden swelling of your arm in the area of the shunt or fistula
oozing/bleeding from needle sites after your treatment
